Hello my darling friends,
I have been thinking of you all. I began writing this last week, while tending to my own family, and it’s incredible how much bigger things have gotten in a short amount of time. This coronavirus is creating all sorts of disruption, and many of us are grounded from work travels, separated from friends and extended family, and find ourselves at home, wondering what to do next. It’s hard to remain focused, and it’s so easy to become overwhelmed.
As we take precautions and distance ourselves from the outside world, know that there is plenty we can do to connect in other ways. Humans depend on connection.
So in that spirit, I’m writing this post because I want you to know how loved you are, and I understand if you’re feeling antsy these days.
I am here for you.
I will lovingly tell you what I tell my family here, and this is true in the best of times as well – discover what you can control. Be kind and patient with yourself – then others. Text those you love! Take time to reach out, FaceTime each other, check in on parents, friends, and neighbors. Reset and reconnect with what and who is important. Get some fresh air if you’re able. Write letters to the local nursing homes. Apologize if you lose it; we all do.
Just in case the cabin fever has reached new heights, remember that we always have control over how we react. We can learn to be consistently loving to ourselves, no matter what is going on or how anyone else is behaving, so our reactions are better. In turn, it attracts more love from others.
